Hatteras is an unincorporated village and census-designated place (CDP) in Dare County, North Carolina, United States, on the Outer Banks island of Hatteras, at its extreme southwestern tip. You've now added Family Water Adventures to your itinerary. On the 7th (Sun), take a tour by water with Family Water Adventures, enjoy the sand and surf at Frisco Beach, then look for gifts at Harbor House Seafood Market, then view the masterpieces at Blue Pelican Gallery, and finally stroll through New Inlet.

Buxton is an unincorporated community and census-designated place (CDP) on Hatteras Island (part of the Outer Banks) near Cape Hatteras. Kick off your visit on the 8th (Mon): visit a coastal fixture at Cape Hatteras Lighthouse, enjoy the sand and surf at Haulover, and then kick back and relax at Shelley Island.

Most visitors take a trip to Nags Head to enjoy the beach, but this Outer Banks town offers more than just waterside entertainment.
On the 9th (Tue), kick back and relax at Pea Island National Wildlife Refuge, get some thrills out on the water with a waterskiing or jet-skiing adventure, then contemplate the long history of Wright Brothers National Memorial, and finally look for gifts at Mom's Sweet Shop. On the next day, visit a coastal fixture at Roanoke Marshes Lighthouse, glide through the air with a parasailing or paragliding tour, and then get your game on at Outer Banks Old Time Photos.
