Blowing Rock is a town in Watauga and Caldwell counties in the U.S. Kick off your visit on the 17th (Fri): indulge your thirst for a good beer at Blowing Rock Brewery and then trek along The Greenway Trail. On the 18th (Sat), you'll have a packed day of sightseeing: steep yourself in history at Flat Top Manor, admire the majestic nature at Julian Price Memorial Park, then take in the awesome beauty at Grandfather Mountain, and finally stop by Mast General Store.

Charlotte to Blowing Rock is an approximately 2-hour car ride. You can also take a bus; or fly. Traveling from Charlotte in July, things will get a bit cooler in Blowing Rock: highs are around 78°F and lows about 61°F. Finish your sightseeing early on the 18th (Sat) so you can drive to Asheville.

The center of Cherokee culture in the eastern part of the country, the town named after this Native American tribe serves as a base camp for hiking in the Great Smoky Mountains.
Start off your visit on the 20th (Mon): sample the fine beverages at Elevated Mountain Distilling Co., then take your sightseeing to a higher altitude at Waterrock Knob, then take a pleasant ride with a tour on horseback, and finally get engrossed in the history at Mountain Farm Museum.
