Vannes

— 3 nights

Gateway to the Gulf

Founded over 2,000 years ago, Vannes is a vacation harbor town with beaches, shopping, museums, and gardens, as well as interesting medieval city gates and timber-framed houses scattered throughout its Old Town.
Kids will appreciate attractions like Centre Historique de Vannes and Carnac stones. Explore Vannes' surroundings by going to Parc Animalier et Botanique de Branfere (in Le Guerno), Carnac (Maison des Megalithes & Tibidy) and Rochefort-en-terre (in Rochefort en Terre). And it doesn't end there: steep yourself in history at Old City Walls of Vannes, explore and take pictures at Domaine de Suscinio, take a leisurely stroll along Port De St Goustan, and see the interesting displays at Sous-Marin Flore.

For more things to do, photos, where to stay, and other tourist information, refer to the Vannes trip site.

Paris to Vannes is an approximately 3-hour flight. You can also take a train; or drive. In May, daytime highs in Vannes are 19°C, while nighttime lows are 9°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 16th (Sun) to allow time to fly back home.
