A commercial capital in the south, Matara offers a real taste of Sri Lanka, which the southern coast's beach resorts often lack.
Your day by day itinerary now includes Good Spa. Unawatuna

Palm-fringed beaches with golden sand, turquoise water, and a colorful coral reef are enough to draw any beachgoer to Unawatuna, but there's plenty to do off the beach here as well.
Kick off your visit on the 2nd (Thu): contemplate the long history of Galle Fort, kick back and relax at Jungle Beach, and then discover the deep blue sea with a scuba or snorkeling tour. On the 3rd (Fri), you'll have a packed day of sightseeing: enjoy the sand and surf at Hikkaduwa Beach, then kick back and relax at Bentota Beach, and then stroll through Sea Turtle Protection Association.
