Gateway to the Highlands

Inverness, often described as the Gateway to the Highlands, is a thriving commercial and industrial center.
Get some cultural insight at Urquhart Castle and Clava Cairns. Get some historical perspective at Culloden Battlefield and Glenfinnan Monument. Get out of town with these interesting Inverness side-trips: Glenfinnan (Glenfinnan Church & Glenfinnan Viaduct Trail), Strathpeffer Pump Room (in Strathpeffer) and Invermoriston Falls (in Invermoriston). The adventure continues: relax in the rural setting at Robertsons, tee off at Castle Stuart Golf Links, pause for some serene contemplation at Saint Andrew's Church, and examine the collection at The Highlanders' Museum (Queen's Own Highlanders Collection).
