Where the West Begins

Advertising itself as the place where the American West begins, Fort Worth stubbornly clings to its cowboy roots, making it a distinctly different town from most other urban centers of its size.
Attractions like The Dallas World Aquarium and Perot Museum of Nature and Science make great kid-friendly stops. Take a break from Fort Worth with a short trip to The Sixth Floor Museum at Dealey Plaza in Dallas, about 34 minutes away. There's still lots to do: contemplate the long history of Fort Worth Stockyards National Historic District, get to know the resident critters at Fort Worth Zoo, get in on the family fun at Six Flags Over Texas, and don't miss a visit to Exchange Avenue.

To see maps, photos, reviews, and more tourist information, go to the Fort Worth travel site.
