4 days in Ella & Bandarawela Itinerary

The relaxing hilltop village of Ella benefits from a more temperate climate than much of the rest of country thanks to its high elevation.

Ella is known for nature, spas, and parks. Your plan includes some of its best attractions: take your sightseeing to a higher altitude at Little Adam's Peak, snap pictures at Nine Arches Bridge, relax and rejuvenate at some of the best spas, and take in nature's colorful creations at Honey Bee Garden.

Colombo to Ella is an approximately 3.5-hour car ride. You can also fly; or do a combination of bus and taxi. In July in Ella, expect temperatures between 39°C during the day and 30°C at night. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 8th (Wed) early enough to drive to Bandarawela.

Bandarawela is the second largest town in the Badulla District which is 30km away from Badulla. Kick off your visit on the 9th (Thu): contemplate in the serene atmosphere at The Nazareth Chapel of the Good Shepherd Convent and then pause for some serene contemplation at St Anthony's Church.
