Situated in the eastern Himalayan range, state capital Gangtok combines a modern, resort town style with ancient spiritual beliefs and an impressive natural heritage.
Start off your visit on the 11th (Thu): explore the activities along Tsomgo Lake, then steep yourself in history at Nathula Pass, and then get great views at Ganesh Tok View Point. Here are some ideas for day two: wander the streets of MG Marg, then meet the residents at Himalayan Zoological Park, then don't miss a visit to Hanuman Tok, and finally take in the spiritual surroundings of Enchey Monastery.

Bengaluru to Gangtok is an approximately 7-hour combination of flight and taxi. You can also drive; or do a combination of train and bus. Prepare for much colder weather when traveling from Bengaluru in January: high temperatures in Gangtok hover around 16°C and lows are around -1°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 13th (Sat) so you can travel to Puri.

An important place of Hindu pilgrimage, Puri features a wealth of holy and historic sites that draw in believers and tourists alike.
Kick off your visit on the 13th (Sat): wander the streets of Raghurajpur Artist Village, admire the striking features of Konark Sun Temple, and then contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Ramachandi Temple. Keep things going the next day: kick back and relax at Puri Beach, kick back and relax at Konark Beach, and then take in the spiritual surroundings of Jagannath Temple.
