The center of Cherokee culture in the eastern part of the country, the town named after this Native American tribe serves as a base camp for hiking in the Great Smoky Mountains.

Venture out of the city with trips to Great Smoky Mountains National Park (Mount LeConte & Clingmans Dome), Hartford (Zipline & River Rafting & Tubing) and Hemlock Falls Trail (in Clarkesville). Next up on the itinerary: try to win big at Casino at Harrah’s Cherokee, see the interesting displays at Museum of the Cherokee Indian, look for gifts at Unique Gift Outlet, and take in the dramatic scenery at Anna Ruby Falls.
