Colorado's Kingdom

Founded in 1859 as part of the Gold Rush in the Rockies, Breckenridge boasts a main street lined with colorful wooden storefronts housing cafes and shops, giving the effect of a thriving western town from the 19th century.
Escape the urban bustle at River Rafting & Tubing and Dillon Reservoir. Step off the beaten path and head to St Mary's Glacier and National Mining Hall of Fame and Museum. Change things up with these side-trips from Breckenridge: South Park City Museum (in Fairplay), Guanella Pass (in Georgetown) and Montgomery Reservoir (in Alma). And it doesn't end there: grab your bike and head to Vail Recreation Path, sample the tasty concoctions at Broken Compass Brewery & Tap House, and get all the information you need at Breckenridge Welcome Center.

In July, daily temperatures in Breckenridge can reach 65°F, while at night they dip to 49°F. Finish your sightseeing early on the 5th (Thu) to allow enough time to travel back home.
