Pécs is the fifth largest city of Hungary, located on the slopes of the Mecsek mountains in the south-west of the country, close to its border with Croatia. Your list of things to see and do now includes Pecsvarad Castle, Pecs Cathedral, Historical Memorial Park of Mohacs, and other attractions.

To see other places to visit, where to stay, maps, and tourist information, go to the Pecs road trip planner.

In June in Pecs, expect temperatures between 30°C during the day and 17°C at night. Cap off your sightseeing on the 19th (Sat) early enough to travel back home.

Baranya County travel guide

4.1
Landmarks · Churches · Art Museums
One of the sunnier regions of Hungary, Baranya County boasts a largely Mediterranean climate. You'll find many archaeological attractions here (as this area previously belonged to the Roman Empire), but the Tuscan-like landscape is a main draw for most tourists. Nearly 200 Roman relics and monuments remain in the Pecs area, such as the Paleochristian graves, one of the only Roman World Heritage Sites outside of Italy. The region also boasts mosques, baths, and architectural attractions from the Ottoman Empire.
