Odin's Shrine

The capital of the island of Funen, Odense represents the birthplace of Hans Christian Andersen, who penned such classics as "The Little Mermaid" and "The Ugly Duckling." Denmark's third-largest city proudly displays its link to the famous writer with museums, sculptures, and public art installations dedicated to Andersen and his stories.
Explore Odense's surroundings by going to Udsigten i Riis Skov (in Risskov), Aarhus (Moesgaard Museum, Dokk1, &more) and Astrup Kirke (in Solbjerg). There's still lots to do: explore the historical opulence of Egeskov Castle, catch some excitement at Odense Skydivingcenter, shop like a local with Galleri Rita Lund Malerier, and make a trip to Eriks Hale.
