Known for its impressive hillside cascade of colorful stone buildings down to the Mediterranean shore, Amalfi is the cultural and commercial heart of southern Italy's Amalfi Coast.Get out of town with these interesting Amalfi side-trips: Castellammare Di Stabia (Monumento ai Caduti & Chiesa Sant'Eustachio), Torre La Cerniola (in Erchie) and Gragnano (Acquedotto Medioevale, Museo Della Biodirversita e CITES, &more). Dedicate the 25th (Mon) to wine at some of the top wineries in the area. There's lots more to do: contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Duomo di Sant'Andrea, get engrossed in the history at Diocesan Museum of Amalfi, stroll the grounds of Cimitero Monumentale, and pause for some serene contemplation at Cloister del Paradiso.
