Wonju is the most populous city in Gangwon province, South Korea.Wonju is a city approximately east of Seoul and the capital can be reached within 1hr 20 minutes by bus or train. Get out of town with these interesting Wonju side-trips: Yeoju-si (Moga Buddhist Museum, Birthplace of Empress Myeongseong, &more), Eumseong Large Rock Face Sculpture Park (in Eumseong-gun) and Anseong Namsadang Training Center (in Anseong). Spend the 2nd (Wed) exploring nature at Sobaeksan National Park Samga. Spend the 6th (Sun) exploring nature at Woraksan National Park. There's still lots to do: try out the rides at Icheon Termeden, examine the collection at Museum SAN, make a trip to Guinsa Temple, and walk around Chungju World Martial Arts Park.
