Getting from Hakone-machi to Kyoto by train takes about 4 hours. Other options: drive; or do a combination of train and flight. When traveling from Hakone-machi in June, plan for somewhat warmer days in Kyoto, with highs around 32°C, while nights are about the same with lows around 22°C. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 16th (Sat) so you can catch the train to Himeji.
