Step out of Santa Cruz with an excursion to Che Guevara Trail in Samaipata--about 1h 55 min away. There's much more to do: walk around Noel Kempff Mercado National Park, take in the spiritual surroundings of Catedral de Santa Cruz, admire the natural beauty at Guembe, and take a stroll around Casa Cultural Melchor Pinto.

Located about halfway between La Paz and Sucre, the city of Oruro (also known as Uru Uru) sits at an elevation of 3,709 m (12,169 ft) above sea level.
