The country's second city, Busan has often been referred to as South Korea's summer capital.
Eschew the tourist crowds and head to Yeojwacheon Stream and Gwangalli Beach. Gyeongju Historic Area and Gyeongju National Museum are good opportunities to explore the local culture. Explore Busan's surroundings by going to Gyeongju (석빙고(Seokbinggo Ice Storage House) & Cheonmachong Tomb) and Jinhaesiripbangmulgwan (in Changwon). Next up on the itinerary: head outdoors with Songdo Beach, snap pictures at Gwangandaegyo Bridge, hunt for treasures at Bupyeong Kkangtong Market, and shop like a local with Gwangbokro Culture and Fashion street.
