Visit Senso-ji Temple and Tokyo National Museum for their historical value. Explore the numerous day-trip ideas around Tokyo: Kamakura (Kotoku-in (Great Buddha of Kamakura), Tsurugaoka Hachimangu Shrine, & more) and Sankeien Gardens (in Yokohama). There's still lots to do: don't miss a visit to Meiji Jingu Shrine, take in nature's colorful creations at Shinjuku Gyoen National Garden, admire the landmark architecture of Tokyo Tower, and get a sense of history and politics at Imperial Palace.

La Paz, Bolivia to Tokyo is an approximately 27-hour combination of flight and train. You can also fly; or do a combination of bus and flight. You'll lose 13 hours traveling from La Paz to Tokyo due to the time zone difference. Popular historic sites such as Matsumoto Castle and Higashiyama Walking Course are in your itinerary. Get out of town with these interesting Matsumoto side-trips: Zenko-ji Temple (in Nagano) and Takayama (Sanmachi Suji & Takayama Jinya). On the 18th (Mon), spend an exhilarating day on the slopes at Norikura Kogen. Next up on the itinerary: contemplate the long history of Kaichi Gakko Primary School, cool off at Lara Matsumoto, experience rural life at Daio Wasabi Farm, and admire the masterpieces at Matsumoto City Museum of Art.
