Change things up with these side-trips from Nagoya: Inuyama Castle (in Inuyama) and Koran Valley (in Toyota). An important industrial hub with a sizable immigrant population from South America, Hamamatsu has developed a taste for international cuisine and arts.
Explore Hamamatsu's surroundings by going to Kakegawa Kachouen (in Kakegawa), Kunozan Toshogu Shrine (in Shizuoka) and Toyohashi General Botanical Garden, Non Hoi Park (in Toyohashi). Not too far from the capital, Ito has developed a reputation as a resort town, with a fair portion of its area lying within a national park.
Kick off your visit on the 13th (Sun): explore the striking landscape at Jogasaki Coast, then see the interesting displays at Ikeda museum of 20th century art, then take your sightseeing to a higher altitude at Mount Omuro, and finally see the interesting displays at Izu Glass and Craft Museum. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 16th (Wed) early enough to drive to Matsumoto.
