Kendal, anciently known as Kirkby in Kendal or Kirkby Kendal, is a market town and civil parish within the South Lakeland District of Cumbria, England. Venture out of the city with trips to Hampsfell Hospice (in Grange-over-Sands), Swirl How (in Coniston) and Sea to Sea (C2C) (in Windermere). There's still lots to do: enjoy some diversion at Michael Coates Clay Shooting, take in the spiritual surroundings of Conishead Priory, look for all kinds of wild species at Sandscale Haws National Nature Reserve, and stroll through Kentmere Horseshoe.
