Ahmedabad, India to Yerevan is an approximately 13-hour flight. Due to the time zone difference, you'll gain 1.5 hours traveling from Ahmedabad to Yerevan. In March, Yerevan is cooler than Ahmedabad - with highs of 16°C and lows of 1°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 1st (Wed) to allow enough time to drive to Tatev.

Getting from Yerevan to Tatev by car takes about 4 hours. Other options: do a combination of bus and taxi. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 5th (Sun) early enough to travel to Areni.

Areni is a village in the Vayots Dzor Province of Armenia. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Areni: Jermuk (Jermuk Deer Monument, Jermuk Waterfall, &more), Vernashen (Tanahati Monastery & Gladzor University Historical-Cultural Museum-Reservation) and Yeghegis (Zorats Church & Tsakhats Kar Monastery). Traveling by car from Tatev to Areni takes 2.5 hours. Finish your sightseeing early on the 9th (Thu) to allow enough time to drive to Gyumri.

Gyumri, the second largest city in Armenia, survived a turbulent history and a devastating earthquake in 1988.

You'll find plenty of places to visit near Gyumri: Dashtadem Fortress (in Dashtadem), Yereruyk Basilica (in Anipemza) and Zorakert (Zorakert Mosque & Muslim Cemetery). Alaverdi, is a town in the Lori Province at the northeastern part of Armenia, near the border with Georgia. Traveling by car from Gyumri to Alaverdi takes 2.5 hours. In April, daily temperatures in Alaverdi can reach 17°C, while at night they dip to 0°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 17th (Fri) early enough to drive to Dilijan.

An alpine haven resting in a plush evergreen national park, Dilijan has made a name for itself as the "Armenian Switzerland." A much-loved spa town rich in culture and history, uncover the majestic 10th century monasteries, undisturbed scenic vistas, and hiking trails through undulating forest.

Get out of town with these interesting Dilijan side-trips: Tezharuyk Monastery (in Meghradzor), Sevan (St. Jacob's Church & Monastery Sevanavank) and Kecharis Monastery (in Tsakhkadzor).
