One of east Asia's major cultural and financial centers, Seoul boasts five World Heritage Sites and a huge selection of museums, temples, shrines, palaces, parks, gardens, and glass-and-steel skyscrapers.
Step out of Seoul to go to Paju and see DMZ Haemaru Village, which is approximately 1h 25 min away. There's lots more to do: get engrossed in the history at Gyeongbokgung Palace, admire the striking features of Changdeokgung Palace, shop like a local with Namdaemun Market, and get in on the family fun at Lotte World.

London, UK to Seoul is an approximately 16-hour flight. The time zone changes from Greenwich Mean Time (GMT) to Korean Standard Time (KST), which is usually a 9 hour difference. Expect somewhat warmer temperatures when traveling from London in May; daily highs in Seoul reach 28°C and lows reach 16°C. Cap off your sightseeing on the 7th (Thu) early enough to go by car to Chuncheon.

The capital of the country's northernmost province, the city of Chuncheon acts a gateway to the wilder sights of the rural region.
Kick off your visit on the 8th (Fri): walk around Kalbongsan Recreational Forest, head off the coast to Nami Island, and then appreciate the history behind Monument for the Participation of Canada in the Korean War. Get ready for a full day of sightseeing on the 9th (Sat): contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Cheongpyeongsa and then take in the natural beauty of World Oncheon.

You can drive from Seoul to Chuncheon in 1.5 hours. Alternatively, you can take a train; or take a subway. In May, daily temperatures in Chuncheon can reach 28°C, while at night they dip to 16°C. Cap off your sightseeing on the 9th (Sat) early enough to go by car to Sokcho.

Sitting along either side of the Nakdong River, Andong maintains an unrivalled reputation as a center for Korean folk and cultural heritage.

One of the most popular tourist destinations in the Republic of Korea, Gyeongju combines a rich cultural heritage with mountain and coastal scenery.
On the 16th (Sat), appreciate the history behind Seokguram, take in the spiritual surroundings of Bulguksa Temple, and then look for all kinds of wild species at Gyeongju Bird Park. Keep things going the next day: contemplate the long history of Cheonmachong Tomb, contemplate the waterfront views at Anapji Pond, and then see the interesting displays at Gyeongju National Museum.

The main town on the largest of Korea's islands, Jeju has a volcanic landscape protected by UNESCO.
