Founded in 1535 by Spanish explorer Francisco Pizarro, Lima represents an interesting blend of modern attractions and preserved colonial architecture, much of it clustered in the World Heritage-listed city center.
Kick off your visit on the 2nd (Sun): take in the architecture and atmosphere at Iglesia y Convento de San Francisco, then don't miss a visit to Plaza de Armas (Plaza Mayor), then take an in-depth tour of Museo Larco, and finally stroll around Circuito Magico Del Agua. On your second day here, look for gifts at Dedalo arte & artesania, then contemplate the long history of Huaca Pucllana, and then wander the streets of Miraflores.

Belize City, Belize to Lima is an approximately 12.5-hour flight. You'll lose 1 hour traveling from Belize City to Lima due to the time zone difference. Expect much colder weather when traveling from Belize City in August: highs in Lima hover around 22°C, while lows dip to 18°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 3rd (Mon) to allow enough time to travel to Cusco.

Capital of the Inca Empire for three centuries, World Heritage-listed Cusco is now a major tourist destination, drawing nearly 2 million annual tourists with its well-preserved colonial architecture and proximity to Machu Picchu.
When in Cusco, make a side trip to see Salinas de Maras in Maras, approximately 1h 15 min away. The adventure continues: delve into the distant past at Sacsayhuaman, contemplate the long history of Sacred Valley of the Incas, get engrossed in the history at Museo Inka, and surround yourself with nature on a nature and wildlife tour.
