Seattle
— 30 nights

Emerald City
Nicknamed the "Emerald City" because of its abundant evergreen trees, Seattle is the cultural and business center of the Pacific Northwest, as well as a popular holiday destination.Let the collections at Chihuly Garden and Glass and Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation Discovery Center capture your imagination. You'll get in some beach time at Alki Beach and Double Bluff Beach. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Seattle: Olympic National Park (Hurricane Ridge, Mount Ellinor, &more), Snoqualmie Falls (in Snoqualmie) and Anacortes (Dolphin & Whale Watching, Rosario Beach, &more). Spend the 10th (Sun) exploring nature at Ebey's Landing National Historical Reserve. And it doesn't end there: identify plant and animal life at Nisqually National Wildlife Refuge, examine the collection at The Museum of Flight, enjoy the sand and surf at Cama Beach State Park, and make a trip to Space Needle.
For where to stay, maps, ratings, and more tourist information, you can read our Seattle online driving holiday planner.
Los Angeles to Seattle is an approximately 5.5-hour flight. You can also drive; or take a bus. Traveling from Los Angeles in May, things will get slightly colder in Seattle: highs are around 23°C and lows about 13°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 31st (Sun) to allow enough time to travel back home.
