Schengen is a small wine-making town and commune in far south-eastern Luxembourg, on the western bank of the river Moselle, near the tripoint where the borders of Germany, France, and Luxembourg meet. Get a sense of the local culture at Vianden Castle and Palace of the Grand Dukes (Palais Grand-Ducal). Get outdoors at Mullerthal Trail and Casemates du Bock. Change things up with these side-trips from Schengen: Luxembourg City (Holy Ghost Citadel, Place Clairefontaine, &more), Clervaux (Musee de Maquettes des Chateaux, Abbaye Saint-Maurice de Clervaux, &more) and Musee de l'Ardoise (in Haut-Martelange). And it doesn't end there: delve into the distant past at Bourscheid Castle, look for gifts at Caves Bernard Massard, do a tasting at Caves St Martin, and explore the different monuments and memorials at Luxembourg American Cemetery Memorial.

To find photos, reviews, ratings, and other tourist information, go to the Schengen route planning website.

If you are flying in from India, the closest major aiport is Luxembourg-Findel International Airport. Expect a daytime high around 22°C in September, and nighttime lows around 11°C. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 1st (Sun) so you can travel back home.
