The small town of Oda, situated in central Shimane, lies nestled in the foothills of the prefecture's tallest mountain, overlooking the scenic coastline of the Sea of Japan.
Change things up with these side-trips from Oda: Tottori Hanakairo-Flower Park (in Nanbu-cho), Izumo (Former Gonoyashiki of Harashika, Mt. Tabushi, &more) and Yonago (Yonago Castle Ruins, Onsen Resorts, &more). There's much more to do: appreciate the extensive heritage of Iwami Ginzan Silver Mine, take in the spiritual surroundings of Kiyomizu Temple, take in breathtaking views at Sandan-kyo, and browse the exhibits of Adachi Museum of Art.
