Pyin Oo Lwin (Maymyo) was established by the British as a military outpost, but soon became the summer capital of British Burma, and a popular retreat for the colonial administration on account of its relatively cool and refreshing climate.
Start off your visit on the 9th (Fri): relax and rejuvenate at some of the best spas and then Head underground at Peik Chin Myaung Cave. On the 10th (Sat), you'll have a packed day of sightseeing: explore the striking landscape of National Kandawgyi Botanical Gardens, then pause for some serene contemplation at All Saints Anglican Church, and then take in the dramatic scenery at Anisakan Falls.

Kalaw

Established by British civil servants as a summer resort, Kalaw retains much of its colonial feel.
Take a break from the city and head to Climbing Tours and Pone Taloke Lake. You'll discover tucked-away gems like Spas and Shwe Oo Min Pagoda. Explore Kalaw's surroundings by going to Pindaya (Aung Umbrella & Pindaya Caves).
