Ishigaki, the most populous island in the chain, features the country's southernmost city and acts as a transport hub for exploring the landmasses that surround.
Eschew the tourist crowds and head to Kondoi Beach and Prime Scuba Ishigaki Diving Center - Day Tour. Take a break from the city and head to Yonehara Beach and Sunset Beach. There's still lots to do: take in the awesome beauty at Nosoko Mape, don't miss a visit to Rhizophoraceae Plant Community of Fukidogawa River, take in the waterfront at Nishi Pier, and stop by Yurateiku Market.
