Prepare for a bit cooler weather when traveling from Koya-cho in September: high temperatures in Shari-cho hover around 22°C and lows are around 17°C. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 11th (Fri) so you can travel to Nikko.

Get a sense of the local culture at Oya History Museum and Taiyuimbyo Shrine. Step out of the city life by going to Yudaki Falls and Lake Chuzenji. Step out of Nikko with an excursion to Oya temple in Utsunomiya--about 48 minutes away. Spend the 13th (Sun) exploring nature at Nikko National Park.
