An island town, capital of the landlocked region of Peten, attractive Flores features pleasant architecture that complements the shimmering appearance of the surrounding lake.
Step out of Flores with an excursion to Tikal in Tikal National Park--about 1h 15 min away. There's much more to do: don't miss a visit to Jorge's Rope Swing, pause for some serene contemplation at Catedral de Flores, get outside with Actún Can, and identify plant and animal life at Ixpanpajul Nature Park.

San Agustín Lanquín, often referred to simply as Lanquín, is a municipality in the Guatemalan department of Alta Verapaz. Start off your visit on the 6th (Tue): Head underground at Lanquin Caves and then get outside with Aventura Grande. Chisec is a municipality in the north of the Guatemalan department of Alta Verapaz that was founded in 1813. Spend the 8th (Thu) exploring nature at Parque Nacional Laguna Lachua.
