When in San Diego, make a side trip to see Self Realization Fellowship Hermitage & Meditation Gardens in Encinitas, approximately 30 minutes away. The quaint city of Healdsburg is one of northern California's wine capitals, serving as the meeting point for three of Sonoma's most important wine-producing regions.
Venture out of the city with trips to Petaluma Seed Bank (in Petaluma), Mendocino Coast (in Mendocino) and Armstrong Redwood State Reserve (in Guerneville).
