Western Romania travel guide

Landmarks · Castles · Churches
Western Romania has large swathes of undeveloped areas where you can discover a variety of prehistoric ruins, medieval fortresses, and abandoned citadels. Timisoara, the region's main social and cultural city, is an architecturally beautiful city with colorful Baroque-style townhouses lining its squares. While perhaps less familiar to foreign tourists, this part of Western Romania hosts many festivals and has several performing arts centers, which draw visitors from the region and wider Romania.
