One of Poland's oldest cities, Krakow sits at the foot of the Carpathian Mountains, its historical town center nestled on the left bank of the Vistula River.
Give yourself a bit of retail therapy at Sukiennice (Cloth Hall) and Maria's Hat Shop. Popular historic sites such as Krakow's Rynek Glowny Central Square and Wawel Royal Castle are in your itinerary. Go for a jaunt from Krakow to Katowice to see Silesia City Center about 56 minutes away. Next up on the itinerary: contemplate the long history of Wieliczka Salt Mine, get engrossed in the history at Ethnographic Museum, wander the streets of Ulica Florianska, and stroll the grounds of New Jewish Cemetery.

The birthplace of astronomer Nicolaus Copernicus, the medieval town of Torun escaped the destruction of World War II, managing to preserve most of the Gothic architecture of its historical old town.
