Žabljak

A trip to Zabljak takes you to the north of the country, a mountainous region that's as steeped in great scenery and views as it is in history and culture.
Explore the numerous day-trip ideas around Žabljak: Tara River Canyon (in Dobrilovina) and Plužine (Lake Piva & Piva Canyon). Spend the 12th (Sat) exploring nature at Biogradska Gora National Park. There's still lots to do: contemplate the waterfront views at Black Lake, admire the engineering at Mratinje Dam, take in the views from Đurđevića Tara Bridge, and appreciate the history behind Monument to the Heroes and Partizans of World War II.

Perched on the edge of a fjord-like bay rimmed by rugged mountains, Kotor grew around a medieval settlement purposely built like a maze.
Get out of town with these interesting Kotor side-trips: Herceg-Novi (Monument to the Heroes of the Naval Battles in the Adriatic, Herceg Novi Old Town, &more).
