Step out of Tokyo to go to Maihama and see Tokyo DisneySea, which is approximately 30 minutes away. Have a day of magic on the 5th (Sun) at Tokyo Disneyland. Toronto, Canada to Tokyo is an approximately 16.5-hour flight. You can also do a combination of flight and train. Traveling from Toronto to Tokyo, you'll lose 14 hours due to the time zone difference. Naha, the capital of Okinawa, has deep roots: Stone Age relics have been found in the city, and through the Middle Ages it rose in importance in the Ryukyu Kingdom.
Explore Naha's surroundings by going to Cape Manzamo (in Onna-son), Nanjo (Okinawa World Culture Kingdom Gyokusendo, Sefa-Utaki, & more) and Kamimuyra Brewery (in Uruma). There's still lots to do: step into the grandiose world of Shurijo Castle, make a trip to Kokusaidori, examine the collection at Haebaru Town Museum, and get in on the excitement at Okinawa Karate Kaikan.

Traveling by flight from Tokyo to Naha takes 4.5 hours. Alternatively, you can do a combination of train, taxi, and flight; or do a combination of train and ferry. Traveling from Tokyo in January, expect nights in Naha to be much hotter, around 17°C, while days are somewhat warmer, around 22°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 12th (Sun) to allow time to travel to Nagasaki.

The hilly port city of Nagasaki has become known internationally as one of the two Japanese cities to be destroyed by an atomic bomb towards the close of World War II.
Step out of Nagasaki with an excursion to Huis Ten Bosch in Sasebo--about 1h 15 min away. There's much more to do: get engrossed in the history at Nagasaki Atomic Bomb Museum, take your sightseeing to a higher altitude at Mt. Inasa, steep yourself in history at Nagasaki Peace Park, and take in panoramic vistas at Inasayama Observation Deck.

Getting from Naha to Nagasaki by flight takes about 3.5 hours. Other options: do a combination of flight and train; or do a combination of ferry and train. When traveling from Naha in January, plan for a bit cooler days in Nagasaki, with highs around 11°C, while nights are much colder with lows around 4°C. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 15th (Wed) so you can catch the train to Hiroshima.
