Rocamadour

— 2 nights

Balcony of the Dordogne Valley

Rocamadour is only accessible by one road leading into the port town built on the face of a cliff with a large number of buildings cantilevered over the edge.
Explore Rocamadour's surroundings by going to Cathedrale Saint-Etienne (in Cahors), Musee Champollion (in Figeac) and Village de Conques (in Conques). Next up on the itinerary: take in the spiritual surroundings of Basilique St-Sauveur, take in the architecture and atmosphere at Eglise Saint Pierre, don't miss a visit to Les Cabanes du Breuil, and steep yourself in history at Château de Biron.

To see where to stay, ratings, maps, and other tourist information, you can read our Rocamadour online journey maker.

If you are flying in from Australia, the closest major aiports are Bergerac-Roumanière Airport, Limoges Airport and Toulouse-Blagnac Airport. In August, daytime highs in Rocamadour are 32°C, while nighttime lows are 16°C. Cap off your sightseeing on the 8th (Sun) early enough to travel back home.
