One of Germany’s oldest towns and home to a UNESCO World Heritage Site, Regensburg today offers a medieval charm not found in many of the country’s cities today.
Get out of town with these interesting Regensburg side-trips: Ingolstadt (Audi Museum & St. Maria de Victoria Kirche), Eichstatter Dom (in Eichstatt) and Waldwipfelweg (in Sankt Englmar). And it doesn't end there: take in the spiritual surroundings of St. Stephen's Cathedral, wander the streets of Old Town, admire the striking features of Cathedral of St Peter's, and make a trip to Veste Oberhaus.

To find maps, more things to do, reviews, and tourist information, you can read our Regensburg visit planning tool .

If you are flying in from Greece, the closest major airports are Flughafen München-Riem, Nuremberg Airport and Memmingen Allgau Airport. In September in Regensburg, expect temperatures between 22°C during the day and 9°C at night. Finish your sightseeing early on the 18th (Wed) to allow enough time to travel back home.
