Pavia is a town and comune of south-western Lombardy, northern Italy, 35km south of Milan on the lower Ticino river near its confluence with the Po. Get out of town with these interesting Pavia side-trips: Tempio Civico della Beata Vergine Incoronata (in Lodi), Serravalle Designer Outlet (in Serravalle Scrivia) and Piazza Ducale (in Vigevano). There's lots more to do: take in the views from Ponte Coperto, pause for some serene contemplation at Basilica San Michele Maggiore, admire the striking features of Casa dei Diversi, and don't miss a visit to Duomo Di Pavia.

If you are flying in from Germany, the closest major airports are Malpensa International Airport, Milano Linate Airport, Il Caravaggio International Airport and Genoa Cristoforo Colombo Airport. In September, daily temperatures in Pavia can reach 29°C, while at night they dip to 17°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 5th (Thu) early enough to travel back home.
