Rising to prominence under feudal rule in the 16th century, the city of Nagahama sits in the northeast Shiga Prefecture, on the shores of Lake Biwa.
Kick off your visit on the 16th (Fri): get to know the fascinating history of Kurokabe Square.

On the 18th (Sun), take in the spiritual surroundings of Chomeiji Temple, don't miss a visit to Gokashokondo Street, steep yourself in history at Oumi Shonin Yashiki Nakae Jungoro Tei, contemplate the long history of Kannonshoji Temple, then take in the spiritual surroundings of Tarobogu Shrine (Aga Shrine), and finally contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Kyorimbo Temple.
