You've now added Strasburg Scooters to your itinerary. Explore the numerous day-trip ideas around Strasburg: Longwood Gardens (in Kennett Square), Winterthur Museum, Garden & Library (in Winterthur) and Brandywine River Museum of Art (in Chadds Ford). There's still lots to do: see the interesting displays at Choo Choo Barn, get engrossed in the history at Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania, stop by Kitchen Kettle Village, and learn about winemaking at Allegro Winery Strasburg.

To see photos, other places to visit, reviews, and other tourist information, use the Strasburg trip itinerary planning tool.

Washington to Strasburg is an approximately 3.5-hour car ride. In May, plan for daily highs up to 72°F, and evening lows to 52°F. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 23rd (Sun) to allow time to travel back home.

Pennsylvania Dutch Country
The core of Pennsylvania's famed "Dutch Country" lies in Lancaster County, a compact area in the southeastern portion of the state. The county features a rolling landscape of green fields and gentle hills, interspersed with small towns and Amish farms. Despite its somewhat misleading nickname, the county is not home to Dutch but German-speaking Swiss Anabaptists, who began settling in religiously tolerant Pennsylvania in the early 1700s. Although Lancaster County thrives on tourism and the Amish community is its main attraction, the Amish themselves remain an intensely private people who are not particularly fond of camera-toting visitors. To learn about their hard-working way of life respectfully, take a trip to one of their hardwood furniture showrooms, clustered around the county's main roads.
