The name Kiama comes from the Aboriginal word Kiaram-a, which allegedly means 'where the sea makes a noise'.
Let the collections at Historical Aircraft Restoration Society and Bradman Museum & International Cricket Hall of Fame capture your imagination. Get outdoors at Kiama Blowhole and Kiama Harbour. Venture out of the city with trips to Crookhaven Heads Lighthouse (in Culburra Beach), Dirty Janes Bowral (in Bowral) and Joadja Vineyard (in Berrima). There's still lots to do: take your sightseeing to a higher altitude at Saddleback Mountain Lookout.

For reviews, other places to visit, traveler tips, and more tourist information, go to the Kiama trip builder website.

Canberra to Kiama is an approximately 3-hour car ride. You can also do a combination of bus and train; or do a combination of flight and train. Expect somewhat warmer temperatures when traveling from Canberra in July; daily highs in Kiama reach 19°C and lows reach 7°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 21st (Tue) early enough to drive back home.
