Holyhead is the largest town in the county of Isle of Anglesey in Wales. Change things up with these side-trips from Holyhead: Beaumaris Castle (in Beaumaris), Caernarfon (Caernarfon Castle & Beacon Climbing Centre) and National Slate Museum (in Llanberis). There's much more to do: take your sightseeing to a higher altitude at Snowdon, enjoy breathtaking views from South Stack Lighthouse, look for all kinds of wild species at South Stack Cliffs RSPB Reserve, and shake up your sightseeing with a climbing tour.

For photos and other tourist information, go to the Holyhead trip itinerary planning tool .

If you are flying in from Ireland, the closest major airports are Manchester Airport, Liverpool John Lennon Airport and George Best Belfast City Airport. Expect a daytime high around 21°C in August, and nighttime lows around 15°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 5th (Mon) to allow time to travel back home.
