One of the country's major artistic and cultural centers, famed for its many annual festivals, Cork straddles the Lee River and boasts over 30 bridges.
Family-friendly places like Fota Wildlife Park and Blarney Castle & Gardens will thrill your kids. Change things up with these side-trips from Cork: Birds of Prey Educational Centre (in Midleton) and Charles Fort (in Kinsale). And it doesn't end there: step off the mainland to explore Spike Island, take in the architecture and atmosphere at Kilfaughnabeg Christ Church, take in the spiritual surroundings of Cobh Cathedral, and examine the collection at Titanic Experience Cobh.

To see reviews, other places to visit, traveler tips, and more tourist information, read our Cork online travel route planner .

Dublin to Cork is an approximately 2.5-hour train ride. You can also drive; or take a bus. In July in Cork, expect temperatures between 22°C during the day and 13°C at night. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 31st (Wed) to allow time to take a train back home.
