The country's second city, Cebu City boasts a number of interesting colonial buildings, thriving commercial areas, and historic temples.
Kick off your visit on the 15th (Thu): get outside with Outdoor Activities and then take in the spiritual surroundings of Taoist Temple. Here are some ideas for day two: get a taste of the local shopping with Colon Street, contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Basilica del Santo Nino, and then get a taste of the local shopping with Ayala Mall.

A long, thin island with a mountainous backbone running through its core, Cebu Island offers scenic nature and pristine beaches. Hikes in the hills offer fabulous views of waterfalls and the distant ocean amid lush greenery, while those who prefer urban entertainment can enjoy the bustle of the provincial capital. For more adventurous visitors, things to do in Cebu Island center mainly around water sports, such as kiteboarding, windsurfing, snorkeling, scuba diving, or taking a boat trip to look for whale sharks. History buffs will enjoy visiting a Portuguese-built Catholic church and then a shrine dedicated to the chieftain who killed Magellan.
