Birgunj is a metropolitan city and border town in Parsa District in the Narayani Zone of southern Nepal. Start off your visit on the 12th (Sat): make a trip to Ghadiarwa Pokhari and then don't miss a visit to Shree Gahawamai Temple.

Kathmandu to Birgunj is an approximately 2.5-hour combination of car and flight. You can also drive; or take a bus. In December, Birgunj is somewhat warmer than Kathmandu - with highs of 27°C and lows of 11°C. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 12th (Sat) so you can travel to Pokhara.
