Anzio
— 2 nights

Anzio is a city and comune on the coast of the Lazio region of Italy, about 51km south of Rome.Well known for its seaside harbour setting, it is a fishing port and a departure point for ferries and hydroplanes to the Pontine Islands of Ponza, Palmarola and Ventotene. Relax by the water at Spiaggia di Torre Paola and Lido Beluga. Discover out-of-the-way places like Beach Head War Cemetery and Lido Le Tre Conchiglie. Change things up with these side-trips from Anzio: Museo Storico Piana delle Orme (in Borgo Faiti), Tempio di Ercole a Cori a Monte (in Cori) and Giardino di Ninfa (in Cisterna di Latina). The adventure continues: pause for some serene contemplation at Cattedrale di Santa Maria - sec. XI-XII, contemplate the long history of Palazzo di Bonifacio VIII, and don't miss a visit to Fondi Via Appia Antica.
