The powerhouse of the northeast, Aberdeen is a prosperous urban center fueled by a thriving petroleum industry.
Old Aberdeen and Admiralty Gateway will appeal to history buffs. Tolbooth Museum and Blairs Museum will appeal to museum buffs. Get out of town with these interesting Aberdeen side-trips: Tolquhon Castle (in Ellon), RSPB Scotland Loch of Strathbeg nature reserve (in Crimond) and Maggie Law Maritime Museum (in Gourdon). There's still lots to do: admire the striking features of King's College Chapel, look for gifts at My Beautiful Caravan, take in the spiritual surroundings of Cowie Chapel, St Mary of the Storms, and take an in-depth tour of Fraserburgh Heritage Centre.

Make your Aberdeen itinerary with Inspirock to find out what to see and where to go.

In August, daytime highs in Aberdeen are 20°C, while nighttime lows are 12°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 16th (Sun) so you can travel back home.
