A sprawling metropolis and center for research, Daejeon stands as the fifth largest city in South Korea.
Venture out of the city with trips to Jeonju (Donghak Revolution Memorial Hall, Jeonju Hanok Village, &more) and Gongju National Museum (in Gongju). Cheongju is the capital and largest city of North Chungcheong Province in South Korea.HistoryCheongju has been an important provincial town since ancient times.During Hideyoshi's Invasions of Korea, Cheongju was the site of the Battle of Chongju, during which the Korean forces re-took the city from the Japanese forces in an important early victory.The government of the province relocated here from Chungju in 1908.The opening of the Chungbuk-line in 1926 sparked regional development. On the 13th (Tue), take an in-depth tour of Cheongju National Museum, then go for a walk through Sangdangsanseong Fortress, and then get to know the resident critters at Cheongju Zoo. One of the most popular tourist destinations in the Republic of Korea, Gyeongju combines a rich cultural heritage with mountain and coastal scenery.
Kick off your visit on the 22nd (Thu): pause for some photo ops at Seokguram, take in the spiritual surroundings of Bulguksa Temple, and then admire the masterpieces at Silla Arts And Science Museum. On your second day here, appreciate the extensive heritage of Tongiljeon, see the interesting displays at Gyeongju National Museum, then explore the activities along Anapji Pond, and finally steep yourself in history at Cheomseongdae Observatory.

Traveling by flight from Jeju to Gyeongju takes 3.5 hours. Alternatively, you can do a combination of ferry and car; or do a combination of ferry, taxi, and train. The country's second city, Busan has often been referred to as South Korea's summer capital.
Step out of Busan with an excursion to Yangsan Tower in Yangsan--about 48 minutes away. The adventure continues: enjoy the sand and surf at Haeundae Beach, head outdoors with Songjeong Beach, hunt for treasures at Jagalchi Market, and make a trip to Gwangandaegyo Bridge.
