Red Desert
The gateway to Utah's popular canyon country, Moab sits engulfed in the middle of desert wilderness.Visit Newspaper Rock Recreation Site and Monument Basin for their historical value. Attractions like Arches National Park and Colorado National Monument make great kid-friendly stops. Venture out of the city with trips to Canyonlands National Park (Island in the Sky, Mesa Arch, &more), Arches National Park (Sand Dune Arch, Devils Garden Trailhead, &more) and Grand Junction (Body Therapeutics Medical Massage, The Little Book Cliffs Wild Horse Area, &more). Make the 5th (Mon) a memorable day with a climbing tour. Next up on the itinerary: see Off-Road Tours, take in the dramatic natural features at Corona Arch, admire the majestic nature at Dead Horse Point State Park, and do some rugged touring at local off-road trails.
For traveler tips, ratings, maps, and tourist information, go to the Moab day trip planning website.
Expect a daytime high around 97°F in July, and nighttime lows around 67°F.
