At the confluence of two rivers, Winnipeg started out as a small trading post in an area inhabited by indigenous tribes for thousands of years before the European arrival.
Explore the numerous day-trip ideas around Winnipeg: Lower Fort Garry National Historic Site (in St. Andrews), The Grande Bazaar (in Stonewall) and Falcon Lake Main Beach (in Falcon Lake). The largest city on Canada's eastern coastline, Halifax boast a rich maritime history and occupies a strategically important location with one of the world's greatest natural harbors.
You'll find plenty of places to visit near Halifax: Grand Pre National Historic Site (in Grand Pre), Peggy's Cove (William deGarthe Art Gallery & Peggy's Cove Lighthouse) and Lunenburg (St. John's Anglican Church & Fisheries Museum of the Atlantic). Charlottetown

The largest city on Prince Edward Island, Charlottetown remains small enough for easy exploration on foot.
Venture out of the city with trips to Cavendish (Cavendish Beach, Cavendish Cliffs, &more), The Links at Crowbush Cove (in Lakeside) and Bedeque Area Historical Museum (in Bedeque). There's still lots to do: get a new perspective on things with Boat Tours & Water Sports, explore the wealth of natural beauty at Prince Edward Island National Park, enjoy the sand and surf at Brackley Beach, and walk around Victoria Park.

Traveling by flight from Halifax to Charlottetown takes 3.5 hours. Alternatively, you can drive; or do a combination of car and ferry.
